I am a passionate biologist and always curious to learn and understand how the environment shapes the evolution of populations/species/biodiversity. For my research, I combine genomics data analysis with field work and common garden experiments.

The devastating impact of global change on biodiversity concerns me a lot and so this topic is revealed in most of my research. In addition to this scientific perspective, I am aiming at an ecological, healthy and sustainable way of living and working for the group, myself and my family.

During my PhD, I focused on the role and diversity of unicellular eukaryotes (protists) in the deep sea by combining cultivation and metabarcoding approaches. Not only the deep sea is threatened by the anthropogenic impact, but also the ecosystems right in front of our doors. Thus, as Postdoc in Ann-Marie's Lab, I want to focus on eco-evolutionary dynamics of freshwater bodies in ecological succession and with respect to the changing climate by establishing specific sampling strategies and using a broad spectrum of sequencing technologies and data analysis tools.

I am excited to work as a PhD student in the Waldvogel lab in cooperation with Philipp Schiffer's worm-lab and investigate the evolutionary history of nematode communities at the dry limit as part of the CRC1211. Already as an undergraduate student I studied the diversity of protists in the hyper-arid Atacama Desert, so I am curious to study nematodes of this special habitat as well.

I am a PhD student with a passion for understanding evolutionary processes and their role in biodiversity conservation. My previous research focused on the Eastern honeybee's population structures and the influence of biogeography. Now, as part of the BIGFOOT project, I am investigating the genomic signatures of population decline across species to contribute insights for biodiversity conservation.

I am a Ph.D. student at the Ecogenomics Group and Philipp Schiffer's worm-lab, focusing on the development of field-based genomic applications using machine learning and network analysis. Additionally, I contribute to the BioC2 project, which aims to integrate infrastructures and expertise to enable comprehensive genomic assessments of biodiversity across entire ecosystems.
